*Someone recently asked me how to apply toner so I thought id make an entire post to answer the question for maybe others that are unsure as well. I think it is a very important step in the skin care process and everyone should know how.
How to apply facial toner properly
Step 1 Wash your face
Splash your face with warm water and make sure your hands are clean. Apply the cleanser to your face with circular motions. Make sure you cover all the areas forehead, chin, nose, cheeks and neck then rinse with lukewarm water.
Step 2 Apply the facial toner
A toner should always be applied to a cleansed face.
Toner can be applied with a cotton pad, clean hands or by spraying on.The most common way is with a cosmetic pad or cotton ball. Saturate the cotton pad and pat the toner gently over your face and neck area. Apply it to the forehead, cheeks, chin and nose, or to the whole face. Never rub your skin when applying toner.
Step 3 Apply moisturizer
After applying facial toner your skin may feel a little tight and dry and that's why you need to apply a facial moisturizer after toning your skin.
What are the benefits of using facial toners?!
Remove dirt and makeup residue
Complement the cleansing process
Refine pores and tighten pores temporarily
Make skin feel fresh and clean
Remove excess oil from the skin
Refresh tired complexion
Whisk away impurities
Reduce the appearance of fine lines
Helps set my makeup
Increase blood circulation
Restore your skin's natural pH balance
Helps to blend my makeup
Improve skin tone
Helps moisturizer seal in the hydration
Reduce oil secretion
Helps to soothe irritated skin
Improve the elimination of toxins
Speed up cell turnover
Promote sloughing of dead skin cells
REMEMBER: If you have areas of the skin that are badly broken out, you want to dab those areas last, so you don’t transfer bacteria from one part of the skin to the other, which may possibly result in more breakouts
Thankyou so much Renay, the post was very good and informative for me.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think Fix+ would be considered a toner as well ? hmmm. i've always thought of it as a makeup setter.
ReplyDeleteWOW. thank you so much for this post... it was really helpful :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post :D I always sort of swipe it on.. not rub but not pat either. I'll have to try patting instead.
