How To: Cranberry Mask

Cranberries aren't just for Thanksgiving, they can be used all year round for a relaxing facial. They can be found easily at almost any food market!! This facial treatment can be expensive at trendy spas, but you can make your own cranberry facial mask at home for just a fraction of the cost. The enzymes in cranberries act as exfoliants and will leave your skin healthy and silky smooth.

I use this when the season starts to get cold and my skin starts to get dry! At night I find it to work best for me, I like to apply firming cream at night right after my mask of choice and this helps my face feel moisture packed and amazingly smooth. It also is an excellent exfoliant for my dry skin. I've tried this out on the weekends early morning and I notice the glow it gives my skin and I just love it. I hope you all enjoy this delightful mask!

Ingredients:
6 Tablespoons Fresh Cranberries
1 yogurt 2% or whole yogurt
1/3 Cup Water
(optional)  pinch of sugar, 1/2 grated apple

Mixture/ Application:
Boil the cranberries with the water for 10 minutes. Mash them up and let them cool. In the meantime, grate the apple (if using) and mix with the cooled cranberries & sugar & yogurt. When mixture is done apply for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water and follow with your moisturizer. Enjoy!

What face mask is best for you?

I use a brush only sometimes when I want to fill every single spot upon my face but clean fingers work just as well. Perhaps using clean hands work better because the warmth of them help for a smooth application :)

Mud face masks or clay face masks are best suited for oily skin. Clay face masks dry up in a short while after application on the face. Such detoxifying face masks open up clogged pores and remove blackheads. They help absorb the excess sebum in the skin to keep the skin oil-free. You will need to rinse them off with cold water and scrub them off your face. The skin becomes free of dirt and circulation in boosted.

Firming masks usually come in cream or gel form. They are massaged into the contours of your face that are looser than you would like them to be. Regular use of such face masks is said to firm up some of the wobbly flesh on the face. Such face masks are used by older women whose skin is losing its elasticity. Firming face masks refine and tighten the skin surface.

Radiance masks make use of vitamins and light diffusers to add glow to dull and lifeless skin. The skin is moisturized and toned to look smooth and young. The complexion appears luminous and glowing.

Hydrating face masks moisturize dry skin and soothe the moisture-starved skin. An emollient face mask must restore natural oils in the skin and provide the hydro-lipid film on the skin.

Peel off masks are usually gel-based. They are applied to the face and then peeled off when dry. Such face masks set to tighten the skin by closing the open pores and smoothening the skin. These masks must be peeled off from the chin and lifted upwards. You can use such face masks to get rid of blackheads, dead cells and facial hair too.

I am a lover of face masks, I use all sorts. I hope this was helpful in helping you find the perfect one :) Any questions just list them below or write to hunnylovins@home.se

LUSH - Love Lettuce Mask

Site Says: Love Lettuce is a facial scrub and a mudpack that gives skin a fantastic glow. Almond oil, lavender oil and rödalgele softens, exfoliates almond shells and Fuller's earth clay magically conjure away the impurities

I say: I had used a sample of this mask a few months back and loved it, but never got around to purchasing some. Today I went for a little shopping and found myself in that's right LUSH!! Ive used it already tonight along with my shower. Since it contains no preservatives, it must be refrigerated and has the shelf life of about a month. It smells a little "vegetable-y", but fresh. It's very exfoliating. When using it, I apply a generous layer to my whole face, avoiding my eye area.I left it on for 20 minutes, I rinsed with warm water lightly working the mask into my skin in circular motions to allow the almond shell bits to exfoliate my skin. When the mask was rinsed off, my skin felt moisturized, smooth, and sooooo soft. I'll definitely be buying this product in the future !!
